A CAMPAIGN to bring red squirrels back to the Troutbeck valley is showing signs of success.

Red seen near garage at Troutbeck Bridge!
A red squirrel was spotted more than once on Monday by residents at Troutbeck Bridge! First it was seen heading into the garage forecourt, and later it was photographed helping itself to sunflower seeds in a nearby garden. It is a remarkable achievement for a red squirrel to be seen in this location, and all thanks must go to those from our WRS group who have been working so hard to make this possible. Red near St Cuthbert’s Church, Kentmere
This red squirrel has just been photographed visiting a garden in Kentmere, near to the church. Most of the reds are seen further south in the valley, so we’re hoping it becomes a regular.
